Alexandra graduated from Oxford Brookes University with a First Class BSc Honours degree in physiotherapy. Since then she gained a wealth of experience as a general physiotherapist before specialising in Women’s Health and Pelvic Physiotherapy, and undertaken many specialist post graduate courses. In 2008 she was awarded a Post Graduate Certificate in Women’s Health Physiotherapy from the University of Bradford.  This award not only advanced her professional career but enabled her to become a full member of the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Women’s Health; a specialist interest group dedicated to providing the latest evidence based treatments for women with musculoskeletal, obstetric, gynaecological, urological and colorectal issues.  During her exams for this award Alexandra achieved a distinction in all her practical case studies (in which she was assessed whilst treating consenting patients). She further gained a distinction for her research project on the role of the pelvic floor in pelvic girdle pain. Most recently Alexandra has not only successfully completed exams in Acupuncture but received a recommendation to publish her research. She now uses Acupuncture for pain, tissue healing and homeostasis in general musculoskeletal complaints as well as specialist Women’s Health issues and pregnancy related dysfunction.

Prior to founding ‘PHYSIO FOR WOMEN’ in 2013, Alexandra spent many years managing the Women’s Health Physiotherapy service at Frimley Park Hospital. A responsible and rewarding role providing a service for GPs, consultants and midwives to refer their patients for treatment of musculoskeletal and pelvic floor dysfunction; including pregnancy and postnatal low back/pelvic pain and general urological, gynaecological, and colorectal conditions. In addition to managing her own full and diverse caseload she regularly helped colleagues manage more complex patients. During her time at Frimley Park she also set up specialist exercise classes for Pregnant and Postnatal women to promote physical fitness and wellbeing as well as provide fundamental support for this life changing event.

Alexandra is passionate about the service she provides and enjoys imparting specialist knowledge and skills to her patient’s as well as other trainee Women’s Health Physiotherapists, GPs and specialist consultants and nurses, with whom she has excellent working relationships. In particular she shares a close working relationship with the renowned and accomplished urogynaecologist Miss Natalia Price in Oxford, and treats many of her patients. She is also involved in health promotion education days for the public.

Her priority is the needs of her patients, hence she delivers the most up to date and evidence based assessments and treatments. Whatever you need help with, Alexandra is focused on you as an individual and your specific needs. She recognises the importance of working together and achieving your goals. After a thorough assessment and a diagnosis, your treatment options will be discussed. Thereafter your treatment plan will be created and tailored as much as practicably possible to your needs and lifestyle.
